Avocado Toast // Vegan + Oil Free + Gluten Free

Okay okay, this is so simple I apologise for classifying it as a recipe. But then again...come on! It's the best food on the planet. Well there are a few of them and I think with the latest spell of food videos you might be beginning to think that I place this label on every second meal. If you haven't tried this then please do yourself a favour and delve into it's simplicity. It's so incredibly simple and the textures and creamy - crunchy - sour - nutty - salty combination make it just utter perfection. While some might run and hide at the fat content, and disguise the little amount they do use by mashing it to make it go further, I personally like to relish in the avocado's glory. We've been pals for a while now (18 years!) and I have to say, preparing it like this is like non-other. Just try it okay?

Method

  1. Get your toast toasting and slice your avocado in half. With a soft knife, run it down the avocado vertically so you create thin slices.
  2. Using a 1/4 of avocado per slice, run the knife around the flesh and then plop into the toast. Using your fingers fan it open - creating a textural party!
  3. Squeeze over a little lemon juice, sprinkle with sesame seeds and crack on some salt and pepper. Enjoy it's beauty ASAP!
